Everybody has this phase in their childhood (where it's most prominent), they want to be the rebelling, bad, yet weirdly trendy guys. "You can't tell us what to do, we're different and proud of it!", yet they come screaming to mommy and daddy when they want to be spoiled with some iShit.
It's actually more of a "look at me!"-action then something of actual importance.
